I am so thankful right now...Loralai and I were returning from Sparks last night, and we were on the ramp coming onto the hwy when I saw a transport truck starting to lose control, so I slowed down and sure enough it flipped over. While searching for my phone to call 911, there was a lady running with her phone speaking with 911, she looked like she may have been a nurse. The driver got out of the transport truck and was walking around, we prayed that he was ok, since shock and adrenaline can make you feel like your fine, and then you may actually be injured.
Here is the news report about it with a picture:
Loralai was not really sure what to think when she saw it happen, it was likely a little overwhelming and confusing for her, since I saw the truck starting to lose control I was kept saying a few times in a row "oh no Loralai, that truck is going to flip". Then as we came up the ramp we saw it flip over and skid until it stopped.
There were several witnesses who stopped and went to help, we stayed until I started to hear the sirens, I figured that there was enough witnesses to help and file a report with the police, that we did not need to also stay. I felt bad for making that decision, but I was not going to get out of the van and leave Loralai in there by herself, and I certainly was not going to have her walking on the hwy with me, so I made a conscious decision to leave. However I did call the OPP and provided my name and telephone number should they require my statement.
It all really felt so surreal, like we were watching a movie. I am so glad that there were no serious injuries.
