Staycation Day #5 July 2016

Today Loralai, Grandma, and I went to Wonderland! We arrived at 10am, and honestly for 2.5 hours we were able to go on almost every ride without dealing with lines, Loralai even went on a few rides multiple times. Loralai also was super excited because

So at 12:30 it started to get busy, so we left and went to Szechuan Szechuan and had a decisions lunch, and then went over to Ikea. I picked up a new bath mat for the kids bathroom, an alarm clock for Loralai's room, and a step stool for Hudson so that he can easily wash his hands and brush his teeth now.

We were not sure how long it would take to get back from Wonderland, so Papa said he would go and get Hudson from daycare for us. I mean we would have been back before it closed, but I know that my dad was excited to go and get him. Papa said that when Hudson saw him he threw down the toy he had and yelled "Papa" and came running over to hug him! :) Carole one of his daycare teachers said to my dad that Hudson really looked like him! Many people have  actually said that, I can't necessarily really see it, but obviously the resemblance is there!

The rest of the night consisted of a bath and bed.

Staycation Day #3 July 2016

Today the builder was coming by to fix the   30 day tarion list of issues, so I dropped Hudson off at daycare and headed home for 8:30 am to which they were supee prompt while I drove into the driveway at 8:30 they were already waiting on the porch.  My Mom was heading down to the city go visit with Grandma, Papa, Bonnie, and uncle Ted, and Loralai decided that being stuck inside all day while they fix everything was a boring option, so she went with my Mom.

Our 30 day Tarion list:

Hole in screen on livingroom window
Cabinet in kitchen sticks/rubs
The drawer in the master bath sticks
Sloppy paint job which ended on our front door hardware
No chalking on the porch pillars
Carpet transition in the livingroom to kitchen was coming up
Hudson's bedroom door was sticking
The laundry room doors hinge was coming off
There was a chip off the ceiling going up the stairs
Sloppy chalking work in the master bath
Marble shower surround was not finished
the corner of the livingroom you walk and you can hear the duct work

Phew I think that's it!!

The guy addressed everything, and could fix everything but 3 items:
1. Cabinet issues since the kitchen trade was not on site today, so they will contact us with an appointment time to come back; 2. The floor/duct work issue; 3. The chalking around the pillars which will actually all be completed along with the rest of the subdivision once completed.

I received a call that my van's warranty hood replacement was completed, so I picked up Hudson, ran into Barrie, picked up my dad and headed to the dealership. Then we went back to my parents and my dad made hamburgers while we waited for my mom and Loralai to return from the city. They had left at 2:30, but Bonnie called and said she got into an accident so they turned back around and went to see her.  She was a little shaken up but ok,  her brand new vehicle which was less than 2 weeks old was not in such great shape. A guy had not been paying attention and ran into the back of her so hard that his air bag went off.

Once Loralai and my mom got home, we ate and the kids plated for a bit and we came home. They watched a movie in Loralai's room together! They have actually been hanging out/ playing more and more lately, I guess as Hudson gets older he is becoming more "fun" lol.

Playing on the porch

Each and every night since we have moved in, Hudson and I (and now Loralai too since she is back home finally) fill up the watering can and water the plant,  and then put the rest of the water into the play table.  We are living in a sand pit without any finished area outside other than our porch, so that is where we play.

We loves it, he also has dump trucks, and loaders to play with in the sand, and of course bubbles...we could not live a day without bubbles ;)

Staycation day #2 July 2016

Loralai didn't sleep well last night, she woke up with a sore belly in the middle of the night and was awake for a while. Good thing we had a relaxing day scheduled for today.

We dropped Hudson off at daycare around 9am, came home and Loralai hung out with her dad for a while.  Then we left to meet Mindy for a sushi lunch, and then off to our massage appointment. This was Loralai's first massage and she loved it. She said her favourite part was massaging her back, and her least favourite was her feet since they are pretty ticklish. She asked when the next time we could go...so I say she is hooked!

After our massage Loralai didn't want to go home just let so we went to the fish store, and then to Scholars Choice and I picked up a puzzle for Hudson.

Loralai opened up and said that she was having some anxiety about starting at a new school in September, so we talked about that for a while on our way back from Barrie to get Hudson.

Perfect low key day :)

Selfie Stick

We bought a Selfie Stick on the weekend, now it was not actually purchased to use to take photos like it is intended too, but for me to use when I read or watch videos in bed, and feel like having the phone a little farther away (doest this make me old ? Lol). However, Loralai had a field day using it to take pictures!

First beach day of summer 2016!

The kids and I met up with some of my friends and their kiddies and headed to the Minot's Point beach! This beach is great because it is small, treed, and has a great park.

Hudson is at an age where he wants to explore and test his independence, so I spent most of the time following him around! But he did love standing in the lake throwing rocks :)

Loralai had a great time building castles in the sand, swimming, and collecting seashells. The lake was much too cold for me yet!

Once it started to get busy we left...and then discovered that all three of us got parking tickets, but overall it was a fun way to spend a beautiful Saturday morning. However, since all three of us mom's spent most of the time chasing out kids around we decided that out next meet up with be sans kids so that we can catch up.

Staycation day #1 July 2016

Today I woke up with Todd bringing me breakfast in bed! Such an amazing husband!

Then after breakfast Loralai and I took Hudson to daycare. I figured I have to pay for him to go, he has a ton of fun there with his friends, plus it gives Loralai and I some girl time, which after the fact that she has been living at her grandparents because of school,  we definitely need.

Then we dropped the van to get some warranty work completed (the hood is being replaced because there was some rust forming), and my mom met us there with my dad's car so we still have a vehicle for the next three days.

Then off to Mastermind Toys so that Loralai could use the gift card that Aunt Bonnie got for her birthday, since it was burning a hole in her wallet! ;)  Then off to Home Depot to get a cabinet pull sample for the kitchen.

We decided that lunch at ISUSHI was in order, then off home to relax for a while (I may have napped a little bit :), then we picked Hudson up, came home and made dinner, then off to the park, and then bath and bed!
